Teaching Portfolio and Teaching Statement for Appointment Procedures and Teaching Certificate

Format:
Online-Workshop
Target group: Teaching staff

Teaching achievements often remain "invisible" in academic careers. Yet in various academic contexts - especially in appointment precedures - candidates are expected to demonstrate their teaching expertise and reflect on their development as a university teacher. If you are applying for a (junior) professorship, you will often be asked to submit a teaching statement, a teaching philosophy, or a teaching portfolio. A teaching portfolio can also be part of completing the Baden-Württemberg Certificate for eaching and Learning at University Level.

To present your teaching philosophy and practice in a clear, structured, and academically sound way, is no small task! Which is why it is recommended that you start drafting your portfolio well before you enter the application process.

In this workshop you will be guided through the process of giving shape to your ideas, with targeted input from our expert trainer. By the end of the workshop, you will have written your teaching philosophy or drafted significant parts of your portfolio.

Please note: The workshop will take place on 11 June 2026 for all participants and wil count for 8 AE. Optionally, you may choose to continue with an additional online working phase, with expert guidance and feedback from the trainer. If interested, please contact the trainer during the workshop for more information.

Counting towards the Baden-Wuerttemberg Certificate for Teaching and Learning at University Level: Module II, Topic 3 (8 AE).
